Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of IT Operations Supervisor in Pensacola, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Manages and oversees the quality of all Operation services and deliverables in a large-scale IT environment;
  • Oversees the implementation of current NIPR and SIPR standard operating procedures (SOP) and performs the technical procedures necessary to maintain the daily operations of an enterprise level network and data center;
  • Oversees the monitoring of NIPR and SIPR enterprise environment for error indicators and escalates discrepancies to device and application owners to assist with troubleshooting and recovery;
  • Provides daily supervision and direction to staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of Microsoft Server 2008-2012;
  • Attends weekly meetings with data center managers to report and discuss current and ongoing issues with technical, facility, and strategic planning within the NIPR and SIPR environments;
  • Prepares and reviews operational and progress reports;
  • Oversees the maintenance and updating of manuals, which contain comprehensive instructions for routine and unusual situations;
  • Provides training and development support to junior IT Operations Technicians;
  • Ensures compliance with Government security, fire and emergency procedures and regulations;
  • Monitors fire detection CO2 system;
  • Monitors and operates computer electronic digital computers to process business, scientific, engineering, or other data according to operating instructions;
  • Ensures that correct peripheral equipment is utilized and moves switches to clear system and operates the equipment;
  • Selects and loads input and output units with materials;
  • Continuously observes equipment, storage devices, printers and control panels for operator messages or error indicators;
  • Sets up and runs diagnostic test and reacts appropriately to the messages and reports errors or machine malfunctions as required;
  • May perform work incidental to machine operations such as maintaining production records, replenishing specified stock items, and distributing output materials;
  • Operates peripheral equipment to perform such operations as tape-to-printer;
  • May work with multiple systems.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a curriculum or major study which provides substantial knowledge useful in developing large, complex IT systems, or is in a Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems is required;
  • Six (6) years of industry accepted Information Technology (IT) experience required;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required at start;
  • IAT Level II certification (CCNA-Security or GICSP or GSEC or Security+) is required;
  • Must-have skills include MS Office Suite 2016, MS Server 2008/2012, Symantec Netbackup, and IT Ticketing system, such as Remedy;
  • Skills with Intermapper Monitoring Software, Lennel Alarming Monitoring System, ScienceLogic EM7 Monitoring Software, Symantec Netbackup, and Altiris are desired but not required.
