Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Senior Systems Integrator in Pensacola, FL.
  • Responsibilities
  • Administration and management of security controls related to the Host Based Security System (HBSS) to include management of e-Policy Orchestrator (ePO), McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise (VSE), Host Based Intrusion Detection (HIPS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and other HBSS integrated software to include both commercial off the shelf and customer developed software;
  • Conducts engineering root cause analysis to provide rigorous and thorough technical evaluation of both deployed HBSS suites and DoD client systems with installed HBSS modules installed in the DoD environment;
  • Makes technical solution recommendations that address fielded systems issues comprehensively, including elements of hardware, software, configuration, training, operations and maintenance of HBSS as deployed in the DOD environment;
  • Installs and configures the latest released version of the DOD HBSS suite of software, subject to Government approval, on hardware located at various military installations throughout the world;
  • Provides engineering analysis studies to support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintaining and operating the DoD HBSS suite of software;
  • Prepares the HBSS suite of software for Test and Evaluation;
  • Evaluates VSE, HIPs, and DLP events and escalation of critical events;
  • Monitors systems and applications on a large-scale;
  • Performs system checks, monitors server and workstation logs for alerts, threats or issues;
  • Provides reports and briefs ongoing projects to Government Lead and leadership;
  • Provides software upgrades as needed to include implementing security patches, bug fixes or other critical updates as they become available within the configuration management of the Program Management Office;
  • Provides source data for Change Requests to the customer’s Configuration and Change Management process;
  • Conducts demonstration of technical solutions in a testing or limited environment that provides the customer the opportunity to evaluate and confirm technical solution efficacy, practicality, and usability prior to deployment in the operational environment;
  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers;
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space;
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products;
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery;
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a curriculum that provides substantial knowledge in complex systems administration, is in a computer science, a physical science or a mathematics-intensive discipline;
  • Six (6) years of industry accepted Information Technology (IT) experience is required;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required;
  • IAT II (CCNA Security or CSA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+ce or SSCP) certification is required;
  • Experience as an HBSS ePO administrator is required;
  • Proven experience of drawing reasonable conclusions from various data inputs to proactively identify deficiencies and sound judgment to formulate, clearly communicate, test, and implement solutions is required;
  • Background knowledge on fundamental technologies in use on large scale networks to include working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Networks/subnets, DNS, DHCP, and common commercial server and workstation operating systems is required;
  • ACAS, DoD STIG, and scripting experience is a plus;
  • SQL database management experience is a plus;
  • Virtualization experience to include Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployments is a plus.
  • Required training includes DISA HBSS Admin 201 and 301 certifications.
