Overview
**THIS IS A PROPOSED POSITION**
GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Cyber Systems Engineer II in St. Louis, MO in support of classified Department of Defense (DoD) programs.

Responsibilities
  • Supports design and troubleshoots data collection and delivery for real-time operations;
  • Utilizes lab environment to develop data parsers and data delivery methods;
  • Codes many small scale data processing scripts/logics, also called data parsers.  May be required to support coding efforts within a Java environment;
  • Documents efforts and design outcomes to facilitate deployments to production environments;
  • Builds and manages Red Hat Linux computing infrastructure;
  • Builds and maintains systems in accordance with DoD policies and procedures;
  • Resolves application and server based outages in an operational environment;
  • Recommends appropriate actions to improve performance, monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance and load balancing;
  • Maintains baseline systems in accordance with DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree plus two (2) years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree plus zero (0) years of experience; or an Associate's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree plus four (4) years of relative experience; or six (6) years of relevant experience in lieu of degree;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required;
  • IAT Level II certification is required (Security+);
  • Basic knowledge of a programming language, such as Python, Java, Perl, or C++ required;
  • Red Hat Linux certification required;
  • Knowledge of cyber analyst tools and workflows required;
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with remote teams required;
  • Experience with data transport, data conversion, and ingest solutions is preferred;
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Red Hat Linux systems and related software is preferred;
  • Experience developing Visio Diagrams, Wiki Articles, and Standard Operating Procedures is preferred;
  • Experience with a wide variety of cyber security tools such as Arcsight SIEM, Nessus, Splunk, Retina, Sourcefire, HBSS, Noesis, Wireshark, and full-packet capture solutions is preferred;
  • Knowledge and experience with DoD STIGs, VMS, and DoD FSO operational standards preferred;
  • Knowledge of big data and data mining techniques in DoD environment is preferred.
