THIS IS A PROPOSED POSITION.
GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Specialist II in Pensacola, FL. The Specialist II leads and participates in highly complex system integration projects. Installs, generates, maintains, tests, debugs, and integrates system software programs with COTS/GOTS applications and support equipment, develops instructions for integration of operating system software, and modifies/maintains integration packages via releases and utilities from manufacturers in a multi-operating system and/or network operating system environment.

Responsibilities
  • Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports from customers;
  • Performs IA reviews as required of technician-generated checklists and scans of servers/systems;
  • Reviews Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM) security messages and Microsoft (MS) Bulletins to determine corrective actions on applicable systems;
  • Applies necessary security packages to ensure compliance with all security mandates. Scans to ensure compliance;
  • Provides Enterprise systems security management to all computer assets;
  • Keeps the servers and workstations up to date and in compliance with NETWARCOM IAVA’s, Microsoft Fixes or other patches to Operating Systems (OS), or Applications that are released;
  • Ensures compliance of patches by actively scanning for successful/unsuccessful deployments and by preparing reports of compliance;
  • Ensures applications/servers are compliant with FISMA, AV application IAVM/IAVA/IAVB, AD policies, application CTOs and INFOCONs, etc. Performs Gold Disk scans and Retina scans;
  • Reviews Software Change Administration and Notification (SCAN) results and determines compliance and provides resolutions;
  • Coordinates with all applicable application owners, program managers and database administrators to initiate corrective actions;
  • Prepares written system software technical reports, documentation, standards, and weekly and monthly system status reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems is required. Additional years of experience may be substituted for a Degree;
  • Eight (8) years of industry accepted Information Technology (IT) experience is required;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required;
  • IAT II (CCNA Security or CSA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+ce or SSCP) certification is required;
  • Experience in Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, Electronic Documentation is required;
  • Experience in Application/Function, Personnel Education, and Training system knowledge may be required;
  • IA Contractor Training and Certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required.
