THIS IS A PROPOSED POSITION
Candidates will have the opportunity to educate, train, and prepare our future cybersecurity workforce.  Candidates will develop curriculum, extracurricular activities, reinforcement labs, and competitive events to help students develop employable skill sets, accelerate competencies and pass certification tests. As an instructor, candidates will provide teacher professional development and effectively teach, mentor and facilitate various cybersecurity courses and training classes while maintaining respect for high school/college students with different levels of experience and comprehension.

ACCELETRAIN® is the next generation of connected classroom technology. Developed by GBSI, ACCELETRAIN® is a cloud-based service that integrates audio/video components, collaboration software and network resources into a classroom to create a distributed Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE). ACCELETRAIN® facilitates a network of connected classrooms, computers, devices, instructors and education resources. GBSI instructors will utilize ACCELETRAIN®, tools and delivery techniques to engage teachers, students, classrooms and resources connected to the ACCELETRAIN® Network.

Responsibilities
  • GBSI instructors will be required to learn to utilize ACCELETRAIN®, tools and delivery techniques to engage teachers, students, classrooms and resources connected to the ACCELETRAIN® Network;
  • Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulates class discussions, and ensure student engagement;
  • Utilizes course materials, including Instructor Guides, Participant Guides, handouts, and other teaching aids to deliver course content as designed;
  • Presents and facilitates training classes, using a variety of techniques such as exercises, case studies, skills practice, along with question and answer sessions;
  • Provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains class-related materials, and assesses student coursework;
  • Must participate in an extracurricular activity at least once a month or as required;
  • Must create a new lab or hands-on activity at least once a month or as required;
  • Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities;
  • Ability to explain complex information technology in an easy to understand manner. Uses metaphorical analogies, associations, situational awareness, scenarios and examples to help explain technical content.;
  • Effective presentation and facilitation skills as demonstrated in words, voice, pace, delivery, and non-verbal communication;
  • Helps students prepare for certification testing. Researches and applies techniques to help students become certified;
  • Provides recommendations and feedback for improving the program;
  • Facilitates and encourages student engagement in hands-on labs, extracurricular activities and competitive events.

Qualifications
  • Two (2) years IT/Cyber creative-instructing experience is required;
  • Two (2) years IT/Cyber curriculum development experience is required;
  • Effective presentation and facilitation skills as demonstrated in words, voice, pace, delivery, and non-verbal communication is required;
  • Ability to teach in an energetic and enthusiastic manner is required;
  • Ability to effectively interact, engage, teach and mentor high school students is required;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through conversation and interaction with students is required;
  • Above average reading and math skills to understand information and explain course information to students is required;
  • IAT Level I and/or Level II certifications (A+, Network+, Security+) are desired;
  • Must be available between the school hours of 7:00am – 5:00pm Central Time.
