Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Data Analyst (Extract, Transform, Load - ETL) Manager for NTMPS / ADE in Pensacola, FL to provide support to the Navy Training Management Planning System (NTMPS)/Authoritative Data Environment (ADE).  The Data Analyst / ETL Manager will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of a new ETL processes to support the creation of a new Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and data platform.

Responsibilities
  • Develops processes and techniques for practicing good data hygiene to ensure data is always up-to-date, accurate, and store efficiently.
  • Applies dimensional modeling experience and a background in general programming concepts.
  • Aggregates multiple data sources and creates complex SQL queries.
  • Documents data architecture requirements and QA guidelines.
  • Contributes to technical discussions regarding software / process design and interfaces, along with complying with best practices.
  • Designs and develops ETL processes for initial and incremental loading.
  • Queries source and target databases for unit testing.
  • Designs and develops data management solutions for complex business operations.
  • Executes code migrations between Dev, QA and Production ETL environments ensuring code and job scheduling is sound and complete.
  • Provides support for the enterprise data warehouse batch processes.
Qualifications
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Six years of industry accepted Information Technology (IT) business experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, an IT-related field, a physical science, or a mathematics-intensive discipline is required.
  • Three or more years writing SQL to perform data manipulation, summation and transformation is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Extract, Translate and Load software is required.
  • Must have experience translating between multiple file formats using scripting languages, ETL tools and methodologies.
  • Must have an understanding of Navy Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education (MPTE) processes and data sources.
  • Must have experience in Oracle databases and PL/SQL.
  • A thorough understanding of SDLC and a strong understanding of data warehouse standards, strategies and tools are a plus.
