GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Cybersecurity Specialist I in Monterrey, CA..


Responsibilities
  • Receives and analyzes network alerts from various sources within the enclave and determines possible causes of such alerts;
  • Logs and updates Cybersecurity events in a ticketing system with detailed information;
  • Coordinates with Cybersecurity staff to validate network alerts;
  • Performs analysis of log files from a variety of sources within the enclave, to include individual host logs, network traffic logs, firewall logs, and intrusion detection system logs;
  • Characterizes and analyzes network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to network resources;
  • Assists with monitoring external data sources (e.g. Cybersecurity vendor sites, Computer Emergency Response Teams, SANS, Security Focus) to maintain currency of Cybersecurity threat condition and determines which security issues may have an impact on the enclave;
  • Prepares incident management documentation in an accurate and professional manner;
  • Other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field; 2 years additional relevant experience could be substituted for degree;
  • More than one (1) year professional of experience in network or UNIX/Linux system administration, and/or more than one ( 1) year professional of experience software engineering, and/or more than one (1) year professional of experience software development;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required;
  • DOD 8570.01-M IAT 1 (A+, Network+ or other qualified certification) preferred;
  • Must have some experience working with various security methodologies and processes and tools;
  • Knowledge and experience configuring and implementing a diverse array of technical security solutions;
  • Experience with JIRA software a plus;
  • Ability to work flexible 24/7/365 schedule.
