THIS IS A PROPOSED POSITION.
GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Developer/Architect I in Pensacola, FL.  The Developer 1 performs high level systems analysis, design, integration, programming and implementation of high priority systems/applications in a web-centric environment. All tasks are performed under a full lifecycle methodology performs requirements definition, project management, applications design, development, documentation, testing, and deployment activities. Performs analysis of requirements and programs using web technology products (e.g., J2EE, JAVA, HTML, XML, or other tools directly related to development of products for the integration into a Portal). Reviews documents and designs/prepares technical reports, presentations, and briefs as required. The Developer I is responsible for assuring the quality of all services and deliverables.


Responsibilities
  • Assists with the preparation of and/or maintains documentation pertaining to application systems development, operation and user support;
  • Translates business specifications into user documentation. All software and documentation must conform to applicable security procedures and standards;
  • Prepares test data, test scripts and executes tests on each SW module independently and tests system integration to verify program accuracy and validity;
  • Participates as needed in application analysis and requirements gathering;
  • Provides Web programming and Web Services support using Web development tools to develop, modify, and maintain SW. Development tools may include Oracle developer, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Eclipse, Visual Studio and (.NET). This includes: SW coding and compilation; screen development, testing, and maintenance; developing screens using application programming standards;
  • Provides programming, data analysis, documentation, job scheduling, and job monitoring support for data exchange processes between applications and other interfacing partners and interfacing systems;
  • SW development and maintenance to be accomplished using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, Unix scripts, Java for web services, WebSphere (MQ Series) and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) SW;
  • Provides documentation consisting of flowchart and text-based program design documentation that clearly defines the database relationship structure within tables, columns, primary keys, schema, relationship types, etc. The creation of databases and tables names will adhere to current established naming conventions currently in use at the Command. The purpose and syntax of all stored procedures and triggers should be clearly defined and documented.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Engineering, or Physical Science is required. Additional years of experience may be substituted for a Degree;
  • Twelve (12) years of industry accepted Information Technology (IT) experience is required;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required;
  • IAT II (CCNA Security or CSA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+ce or SSCP) certification is required;
  • Experience with Software, systems/network architecture, project management, cloud infrastructure is required;
  • Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA) may be required.
