Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Cyber Systems Network Engineer in Pensacola, FL, capable of complex Network Engineering and Management for a 24x7 global classified operation.  This position will analyze, plan, engineer, configure, deploy, and maintain complex network technologies; design network equipment configuration plans that provide operational efficiencies, availability, and ensure all network equipment conforms to DoD security posture requirements.  Incumbent will provide advanced Tier III troubleshooting for issues beyond the range of operations administrators. 

Responsibilities
  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation and complex troubleshooting of DoD WAN and LAN network infrastructures;
  • Ensures all equipment is designed and maintained in compliance with DoD cybersecurity controls and policies;
  • Works independently as Project Lead on projects and deployments at local site;
  • Analyzes network at all levels of total systems product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation maintenance, and disposal;
  • Evaluates proposed software changes and upgrades, performs risk assessment, schedules and performs updates on equipment at remote site, validates operational readiness after implementation;
  • Provides technical solutions for program deployments, including technical drawings of proposed solutions, configuration, installation and maintenance of routers, firewalls, switches, packet brokers, and loan balancers;
  • Develops network topology designs and transport options and provides subject matter expertise for new and emerging requirements;
  • Designs, develops, and implements disaster recovery strategies and fail over operations;
  • Creates and maintains complex network documentation for use with configuration management, change management, inventory, accreditation, briefings and proposals;
  • Represents the organization on technical calls with customer and other programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree plus six (6) years of relevant IT administrative experience is required; OR Master's degree plus four (4) years of relevant IT administrative experience is required; OR Associate's degree plus eight (8) years of relevant IT administrative experience is required; OR ten (10) years of relevant IT engineering experience is required in lieu of degree
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required at start;
  • Required to have and maintain current IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+, GSEC, GICSP, SSCP, or CCNA-Security) at start;
  • 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel is required;
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is a plus;
  • Juniper certifications are a plus;
  • Expertise in Juniper JUNOS and Cisco IOS operating systems is preferred;
  • Familiar with routers/firewalls/switches, Load Balancers, packet brokers, and security appliances is a plus;
  • Ability to configure and operate in-line network encryptors is preferred;
  • Knowledge and experience applying DoD cybersecurity controls is preferred;
  • Experience in the configuration and troubleshooting of BGP is a plus;
  • Knowledge of basic Data Center design structures is preferred;
  • Basic Linux skills is a plus.
