THIS IS A PROPOSED POSITION.
GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Engineer I in Pensacola, FL. The Engineer I has the knowledge to design, test, and implement software, systems, business processes, system/network/software/hardware integration and cloud infrastructure.


Responsibilities
  • Oversees the installation of enterprise client department-specific applications and systems. Ensures installations are in accordance with appropriate operating procedures and determines revisions or updates to installation as needed;
  • Installs, investigates and resolves routine and complex matters of significance with computer software and hardware equipment; installs and maintains Linux/RedHat servers, both physical and virtual, in support of established requirements;
  • Maintains current patch levels on all UNIX OS systems and keeps OS current in regards to DoD/DoN security requirements;
  • Performs software installations and upgrades; maintains Unix and Linux platforms and layered software packages; coordinates testing, upgrades, and configuration of system files and services;
  • Provides LDAP services across the various UNIX platforms and integration into Windows AD for the Training COI and the CDA COI to include: hardware specifications, installation, support, maintenance, system documentation, testing, performance reporting, and lifecycle reporting;
  • Analyzes, logs, tracks, and resolves complex software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printer, servers, and applications to meet business needs;
  • Coordinates and monitors troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning; recommends course of action and implements as approved.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Engineering, or Physical Science is required.  Additional years experience may be substituted for a Degree;
  • Ten (10) years of industry accepted Information Technology (IT) experience is required;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required;
  • IAT II (CCNA Security or CSA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+ce or SSCP) certification is required;
  • IA Contractor Training and Certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required.
