Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Specialist II in Pensacola, FL to provide support to Navy eLearning (NeL).

Responsibilities
  • Participates in test efforts for software product development or support projects to measure the quality of the functional (business) components of the system;
  • Performs dry run testing and formal execution of test-ware under supervision. Identifies and reports issues, recommending solutions and following established test / quality assurance methodology;
  • Determines appropriate test to conduct and executes identified business-focused regression tests and tests of defects corrected by software developers;
  • Responsible for validation of content and documentation delivered by sponsors and developers; including testing of functionality, compatibility and integration of all content;
  • Maintains liaison with content sponsors and technical personnel to assure highly effective, reliable, and timely support for learning initiatives;
  • Should be competent in programming with standards-based web technologies such as DHTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, HTML5 Web-services. While programming is not a day-to-day function, knowledge of these technologies from a development perspective are integral to ID problem areas within content, courseware, and applications to recommend technical solutions to content developers and client for those items targeted for delivery via the Navy's LMS applications suite.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems is required. Additional years of experience may be substituted for a Degree;
  • Six (6) years of industry accepted Information Technology (IT) experience is required;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required;
  • IAT II (CCNA Security or CSA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+ce or SSCP) certification is required;
  • IA Contractor Training and Certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required;
  • Experience with web development and working knowledge of toolsets used for creating & evaluating courseware (HTML/XML/CSS/HTML5/JavaScript editors such as Adobe Web Standard & toolsets required for validating courseware (ADL Test Suite & Runtime Environment ADL RTE and Rustici Test Track) is required;
  • Understanding of the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) sequencing/navigation/cmi, TinCan, API, XAPI, Learning Record Stores (LRS), and its relevance, use and implementation within courseware, training, applications, & data reporting processes is required;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify issues within eLearning courses, and applications is required;
  • Good attention to detail and follow-through skills to wrap up open issues independently;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing to relay issues to team members, government centers, and developers.
