Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Cyber Systems Administrator - Windows in Montgomery, AL who will support large computing systems and state of the art solutions to a wide range of technical problems for classified programs and projects supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). The Cyber Systems Administrator will design, install, configure, secure, troubleshoot and maintain operating systems for mission critical servers in support of classified DoD programs.

This is a 24/7/365 environment. This is primarily a Monday - Friday day shift.  The chosen candidate must have the ability to work infrequent nights or weekends or as needed for support of emergency outages.

Responsibilities
  • Supports Core Server Infrastructure;
  • Will use knowledge of building, configuring, and securing Microsoft Windows Servers;
  • Utilizes and manages Microsoft Active Directory;
  • Supports servers in a virtualized server environment;
  • Provides assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems;
  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.;
  • Works with a team of Service desk and systems Administrators. May be called upon to assist with Service desk issues;
  • Utilizes Remedy ticketing system for trouble management documentation;
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to DoD agencies and internal customers;
  • Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning;
  • Researches and recommends/assists in improving system performance;
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with remote customers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years of relevant IT administration experience; OR seven (7) years of relevant IT administration experience in lieu of a degree;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Required to have and maintain current IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+, GSEC, GICSP, SSCP, or CCNA-Security);
  • Experience with Windows Servers is required;
  • Experience with Active Directory is required;
  • Experience with VMware is required;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing ability is required;
  • Ability to work nights or weekends as needed for on-call emergency outages.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows 2012/2016 Servers is preferred;
  • Experience with Active Directory DNS and GPOs is preferred;
  • Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) is preferred;
  • Experience with Citrix/NetScaler is preferred.
