Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Developer/Programmer in Pensacola, FL to
provide programming support to enhance, develop, modify, and maintain My Education program for Navy Education and Training Command (NETC) include the following systems: Navy College Management Information System (NCMIS), Joint Services Transcript (JST), Introductory Flight Screening (IFS), and United Services Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP).

Responsibilities
  • Codes, tests, and debugs computer programs. Analyzes, designs and writes specifications for basic programs. Assists in identifying and resolving product problems with specific programs. Creates appropriate technical documentation. Performs data analysis;
  • Web programming and web services support experience using web development tools to develop, modify, and maintain software. Development tools include Java, JSF, and JPA;
  • Software coding and compilation; screen development, testing, and maintenance; developing screens using application programming standards;
  • Programming, data analysis, documentation, job scheduling, and job monitoring support for data exchange processes between MyEd and other interfacing partners and interfacing systems.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in a curriculum or major field of study which either provides substantial knowledge useful in developing large, complex IT systems, or is in a computer science or computer information systems;
  • Four (4) years related experience working with relational databases; 
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required.  May start with an Interim clearance;
  • Must have or obtain IAT Level II (CCNA Security or SA+ or GICSP or GSEC or Security+ce or SSCP) within 6 months of hire date;
  • Java, Java EE, JSF, JPA, Oracle SQL and/or PL/SQL, and HTML Analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs. Communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients is required;
  • JavaScript, Hibernate, and Web Design is desired.
