Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Enterprise Services Engineer - MS Azure in Landover, MD.  The Enterprise Services Engineer specializes in Microsoft Azure focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level IT infrastructure and services, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and performant, often involving data management, and collaborating with various teams to meet business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Designs, implements, and manages hybrid cloud solutions for enterprise clients, focusing on Azure services, infrastructure, interoperability, and security to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure hybrid cloud environment;
  • Provides technical expertise by possessing strong technical skills in systems administration, troubleshooting, and IT consulting, with a focus on the enterprise’s infrastructure, systems, networks, and security;
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves complex technical issues, both independently and collaboratively;
  • Works closely with the client to understand their needs and ensures they are achieving their desired outcomes within their enterprise infrastructure, systems, networks, and security; 
  • Effectively communicates technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, both internally and externally;
  • Collaborates and works within a team-based environment, collaborating with Technical Account Managers and other enterprise engineers;
  • Responsible for documenting best practices, procedures, and knowledge base entries for the enterprise;
  • Continuously learns and adapts to the ever-evolving landscape of enterprise technology, infrastructure, systems, networks, and security;
  • Provides both on-site support to clients at multiple locations, ensuring the smooth operation of the enterprise;
  • Engineers solutions for the enterprise’s infrastructure, systems, networks, and security to ensure its stability and performance;
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for clients to gain greater value from their enterprise environment;
  • Plays a role in ensuring that customers are meeting their risk and compliance requirements with respect to their enterprise’s infrastructure, systems, networks, and security;
  • Contributes to the effective management of IT assets within the client environment.
     
Qualifications
  • LEVEL III: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with five (5) to eight (8) years’ experience is required; OR Masters degree in a related field with three (3) to five (5) years’ experience years of experience; OR PhD with zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience;
  • Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III (i.e., CISSP GCIH,or GCIA) certification is required at start;
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility at start;
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint metadata, application data fields, Active Directory, Exchange, Databases, and other systems and services is required;
  • Understanding of both physical and virtual infrastructure hosting one or more Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, Solaris, UNIX, and/or AIX systems is required;
  • ITILv4 Foundations certification is desired.
