Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Enterprise Services Engineer - MS Exchange in Landover, MD.  The Enterprise Services Engineer (MS Exchange) must have experience developing and implementing IT architecture plans, Enterprise Information Architecture standards and guidelines, system development methodologies, and strategic plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provides technical leadership guidance and expertise in implementing and managing enterprise information/data management practices, particularly within the Microsoft Exchange ecosystem;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Exchange Server, including on-premises and hybrid configurations, as well as related technologies like Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 services;
  • Possesses strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues within the Exchange environment;
  • Participates in the architecture, design, and implementation of Exchange architectures, including migrations, integrations, and new deployments;
  • Develops and executes PowerShell scripts for automating routine tasks and improving operational efficiency;
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with other IT staff, users, and vendors to ensure seamless operations and user satisfaction;
  • Creates and maintains documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles to support the Exchange environment;
  • Experience with data modeling, data dictionaries, metadata management, and data governance processes;
  • Knowledge of IT architecture principles, standards, and guidelines;
  • Experience in leading and participating in information/data management projects;
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in the Exchange environment and implements solutions to enhance performance and reliability. 
     
Qualifications
  • LEVEL IV: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with (8) to ten (10) years’ experience is required; OR Masters degree in a related field with six (6) to eight (8) years’ experience years of experience; OR PhD with three (3) to five (5) years’ experience;
  • Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III (i.e., CISSP GCIH,or GCIA) certification is required at start;
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility at start;
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint metadata, application data fields, Active Directory, Exchange, Databases, and other systems and services is required;
  • Understanding of both physical and virtual infrastructure hosting one or more Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, Solaris, UNIX, and/or AIX systems is required;
  • ITILv4 Foundations certification is desired.
