Overview
GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Scheduler in Landover, MD. The Master Scheduler requires a strong understanding of scheduling best practices, technical project execution, and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains a program-level IMS, comprised of multiple sub projects, which includes major milestones and deliverables with projected start dates, due dates, schedule status, assigned resources, priorities of work and alignment to Contractor's Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS);
- Coordinates and maintains an integrated project schedule that aligns with agile release train stories;
- Develops the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS);
- Coordinates the IMS with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS);
- Leads cross functional team members in the definition of project tasks, establish task durations, define relationships, impose constraints, collect weekly status;
- Proposes processes that will aid Integrated Scheduling and understands the impacts of any changes to program delivery;
- Develops process, procedures, and strategy for implementing scheduling best practices;
- Tracks the critical path in program activities, associated risks, and recommended mitigations in requested schedule and risk reviews;
- Uses Microsoft Project to develop high level schedules and graphics utilizing Excel or Power BI to deliver to senior leaders and stakeholders;
- Facilitates client-facing meetings to review the IMS and discuss potential schedule slips and mitigation plans;
- Possesses the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of the team or to those who are unfamiliar with the topic;
- Identifies, tracks, and integrates risks into the IMS;
- Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer and stakeholder feedback to assess program performance and risks and recommends resources and actions to ensure mission success;
- Leads after-action reviews, leverages performance benchmarking, and introduces best practices; conducts root cause analysis and develops disposition and corrective and preventive actions for recurring discrepancies.
Qualifications
- LEVEL III: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with five (5) to eight (8) years’ experience is required; OR Masters degree in a related field with three (3) to five (5) years’ experience years of experience; OR PhD with zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience;
- Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III (i.e., CISSP GCIH,or GCIA) certification is required at start;
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility at start;
- Proven experience with Risk Management is required;
- Working knowledge of industry standards is required;
- Ability to facilitate face-to-face meetings and brief the highest levels of the Government Customer PMO and the Program Sponsor is required;
- Must have excellent communication and written skills is essential in this role;
- Must demonstrate ability to work independently is required'
- Must have excellent MS Project and Excel skills;
- PMP certification is preferred;
- ITIL Foundations certification is preferred.
