Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Security Officer in Pensacola, FL.  The Security Officer's responsibilities will focus on all facets of program security including but not limited to: Physical, Personnel, Information Management, Operations, Industrial, and Communications.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts program and site security and safety briefings for assigned personnel and visitors;
  • Conducts Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAMs) and other ECP and roving inspections;
  • Performs escort missions for un-cleared or non-program briefed visitors;
  • Understands Government policy and directives in order to be able to apply solutions to complex tasks/challenges/assignments that are in compliance with policy;
  • Represents Security in weekly Program staff meetings;
  • Provides advice and counsel on security matters/activities that affect the program;
  • Serves as alternate COMSEC custodian for a very large COMSEC account; experience in the following is a strong plus, but not a requirement: upgrading cryptographic device firmware and interoperability of firmware versions between enterprise encryptors; knowledge of the handling, maintaining, storing of KG-175s and associated keying equipment; hands-on experience with installation, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of COMSEC equipment; 
  • Processes, updates and maintains visitor badge and access control records;
  • Maintains accurate records to include company database information for clearances, facilities, contracts, customer decisions, and other critical compliance areas;
  • Must be able to lift, move or carry objects greater than 50 pounds.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with three (3) years related security experience; Experience accepted in lieu of degree;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance;
  • Required to have and maintain current IAT Level II certification (Security+, GSEC, or SSCP or CCNA-Security) in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program guidelines;​​​​​ is required;
  • Good working knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) and Department of Defense Manual 5200.01 Volumes 1-4;
  • Ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, and be able to manage multiple tasks simutaneously, make decisions in the midst of ambiguity, and meet deadlines;
  • Strong working knowledge of basic office automation tool suites such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access);
  • Experience managing physical security systems to include Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Access Control Systems (ACS);
  • Experience with DoD anti-terrorism/force protection programs and command emergency management.
