Overview
GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of IT Analyst in Huntsville, AL to provide support our Threat Systems Management Office (TSMO) customer. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamental skill set in information technology with experience working in a dynamic, fast paced computing environment that services a distributed and diversified workforce.
Responsibilities
- Provides general IT support and assistance to end users, thoroughly documenting all issues to prevent chronic escalation;
- Collects data and performs analysis to identify the potential improvements for both classified and unclassified computing environments;
- Performs project management activities to include planning, scheduling, organizing and directing internal and external resources to keep projects on cost and schedule;
- Works with the Information Management Officer (IMO) to identify schedule and resource risks and issues across IT projects, communicating schedule impacts and recommending corrective actions as necessary;
- Elicits, analyzes, documents, and validates technology solutions by obtaining an understanding of end user needs and their integration with mission requirements;
- Tracks and manages IT processes and projects from cradle to grave relative to hardware, software, and infrastructure requirements;
- Analyzes and documents existing practices and procedures to develop a plan of actions and milestones evolving current practices and procedures to best known practices and procedures;
- Responsible for providing technical and analytical recommendations to the IMO regarding Information Technology requirements and activities with a focus on continuous process improvement based on emerging trends and technologies;
- Assists the IMO in the planning, design, implementation, and support of both classified and unclassified network infrastructures which will include activities such as the installation of cabling, configuration of routers and switches, and implementing and maintaining system security strategies to ensure the integrity of networks and systems;
- Engages directly with end users to help ensure all aspects of computing environments are operating efficiently and effectively; strong customer service skills are a must as the IT Analyst will be directly interacting with varying levels of managers as well as high ranking Government leaders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Engineering, or management information systems is required;
- Two (2) years of industry accepted Information Technology (IT) experience is required; minimum of four (4) years of direct experience in lieu of degree;
- Active DoD-issued Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required at start;
- Working knowledge of both Red Hat Linux and Windows Server operating systems is required;
- Experience working with / handling COMSEC and Cryptographic Keying Material is desired;
- Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and briefings suitable for presentation to senior level personnel is desired;
- Experience working individually as well as organizing and facilitating working groups is desired.
