• Supports system safety engineering activities across all phases of missile system development, integration, test, production,, and fielding;
• Performs and documents hazard analyses including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA);
• Ensures compliance with MIL-STD-882E and other applicable DoD and Army safety standards;
• Develops and maintains Safety Assessment Reports (SARs), Safety Verification Plans, and Risk Acceptance documentation;
• Collaborates with design, test, and integration teams to embed safety requirements into system architecture and operational concepts;
• Supports Safety Release processes for test events, including live-fire and flight testing;
• Interfaces with Army safety boards, review panels, and Joint Weapon Safety Working Groups;
• Leads root cause analysis and corrective action planning for safety-related incidents or anomalies;
• Up to 15% travel is expected in this role.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited college or university is required, with at least sixteen (16) years' experience; OR 
• Master's degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited college or university, with at least fourteen (14) years' experience is preferred;
• DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required at start;
• Experience with software development processes for Flight-Critical and Safety-Critical software is required;
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E and/or similar safety standards is required;
• Familiarity with software development/lifecycle IEEE 12207, MIL-STD-498 is preferred.
