Overview

GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of SharePoint Engineer in Landover, MD.  The SharePoint Engineer will design, customize, and debug workflows (automate business processes), web sites, web parts, form and list/library, and other custom applications and/or tools using various programming languages (PowerShell, JavaScript, CSS, Microsoft .NET, HTML etc.) within the MS SharePoint environment.

Responsibilities
  • Works with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives;
  • Designs a SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint SE migration and implementation plan;
  • Plans activities, schedules, risks, and resources needed for deployments or upgrades;
  • Provides technical execution and expertise in migrating current and future content from external systems into the SharePoint system;
  • Plans SharePoint search topology, strategy, and configure federated search;
  • Provides SharePoint site structure/navigational architecture guidance and execution, to include Communities of Practice (CoP), working areas, and websites based on established standards and best practices;
  • Performs SharePoint customization, integration, and upgrades into the engineering, test and production environments in accordance with Configuration Management, Change Management and Security policies and processes;
  • Integrates SharePoint with other business applications (e.g., CRM, ERP) and Microsoft products (e.g., Office 365, Teams, OneDrive);
  • Makes recommendations and performs installations of new major releases, product updates, hot fixes and service packs. Installs and tests recommendations as required;
  • Customizes and implements tools and capabilities to include Dashboards, Web sites, Employee Library, and Reports for SharePoint;
  • Creates custom forms, templates, and web parts using tools like InfoPath and SharePoint Designer;
  • Creates and maintains documentation for SharePoint solutions, including architecture, configurations, and procedures;
  • Implements and manages security policies, permissions, and governance for the SharePoint environment;
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint-related issues.
Qualifications
  • LEVEL II: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with two (2) to five (5) years experience is required; OR Masters degree in a related field with zero (0) to two (2) years experience years of experience; OR eight (8) to ten (10) years experience with no degree;
  • LEVEL III: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with five (5) to eight (8) years experience is required; OR Masters degree in a related field with three (3) to five (5) years experience years of experience; OR a PdD with zero (0) to two (2) years experience;
  • Information Assurance Certifications consistent with DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III (i.e., CISSP GCIH,or GCIA) certification is required at start;
  • Active DoD-issued Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required at start;
  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure is highly desired;
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certification is highly desired;
  • Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert certification is highly desired;

Technical Skills

  • SharePoint Expertise: Strong knowledge of SharePoint 2016/2019 and SharePoint SE.
  • Development Skills: Proficiency in .NET, PowerShell, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
  • Power Platform: Experience with PowerApps and Power Automate.
  • Microsoft Graph API: Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API for automation and data integration.
  • SQL Server: Knowledge of SQL Server for SharePoint database management, including experience with Always-On High Availability.
