Overview
THIS IS A PROPOSED POSITION.
GBSI is seeking a professional for the role of Software Airworthiness Analyst.  The ideal candidate will perform software system safety evaluations for DoD Systems.

Responsibilities
  • Leads and coordinates multi-disciplinary efforts by conducting software system safety assessments, verification testing, and other system evaluations;
  • Supports system requirements identification, development, documentation, traceability, and evaluation;
  • Provides Army systems architecture support by evaluating design, development, production and operations;
  • Prepares and writes formal Systems Safety Hazard Analysis Reports, Assessment and Evaluation Reports, and System/Software policies and procedures;
  • Understands the full Software Development life cycle;
  • Utilizes excellent written and oral communication skills to maintain successful daily interaction with customer and teammates;
  • Exercises ability to handle significant responsibility and attention to detail.
Qualifications
  • ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or scientific field is required;
  • Minimum five (5) years' related experience is required;
  • DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required at start;
  • Experience with Army Aviation SW systems is required;
  • Experience with the Systems Readiness Directorate (SRD) is required;
  • Experience developing embedded mission critical software in C, C++, or ADA is required;
  • Experience with Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and/or Failure Mode, Effects, & Critically Analysis (FMECA) is required;
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-882 and/or similar safety standards is required;
  • Familiarity with civil and military airworthiness qualification and Software Safety requirements, such as: MIL-HDBK-516, DO-178, MIL-STD-882, JSSSEH, AMCOM Regulation 385-17. SAE ARP 4761, or similar software safety standards is required;
  • Knowledge of the integration and verification of large systems is required;
  • Knowledge of the Airworthiness Release (AWR) process is required;
  • Knowledge of Army Military Airworthiness Certification Criteria (AMACC) or MIL-HDBK-516C Airworthiness Certification Criteria is required;
  • Knowledge of static and dynamic code analysis is preferred;
  • Experience with Model Based Software Development, familiarity with Matlab and Simulink, Rhapsody, DOORS, SCADE, etc., is preferred;
  • Familiarity with software development and evaluation tools is a plus.
