ANTICIPATION TO FILL POSITION BY NOVEMBER 1, 2023
GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of SCRUM Master in Landover, MD. SCRUM is a methodology that allows a team to self-organize and make changes quickly, in accordance with agile principles.  The SCRUM Master manages the process for how information is exchanged.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for creating and onboarding project teams, integrating them into the organization and providing a clear vision of the product;
  • Facilitates communication and information exchange between external groups and the project team; monitors project progress, provides timely feedback, and drives a culture of agility and learning;
  • Hosts daily team meetings to get updates on the progress of the project, addresses potential roadblocks, and ensures that the project is on track; hosts regular sessions to share updates with product stakeholders about how the project is progressing, ensuring that the team is meeting deadlines with the desired outcome;
  • Encourages the use of continuous integration (CI) and automation;
  • Serves as the coach for the development team and the product owner;
  • Ensures that the team is adequately trained to understand Agile processes and that the team members know their specific roles and are dedicated to the project, constantly looking for ways to improve team performance and productivity;
  • Keeps the team organized and on track by hosting stand-up meetings, ensuring that all team members, even those working remotely can attend and participate in the meetings;
  • Helps the product owner refine and maintain the backlog by using information gathered from standup meetings; schedules review meetings and prioritizes work on user stories; collaborates with product owners and stakeholders to ensure the workload is redistributed;
  • Well proficient in key Scrum practices and processes; plays the role of a mentor to ensure smooth onboarding of new employees and team members, while helping new members understand the scope and vision of a product and ensures work does not slow down;
  • Tasked to make sure that the team follows Scrum practices and rules while working; Teaches the team ways to stay self-organized and focused, which in turn improves productivity.
Qualifications
  • LEVEL II: Bachelor's degree in a related field, with two (2) to five (5) years experience is required; OR Masters degree in a related field with zero (0) to two (2) years experience years of experience; OR eight (8) to ten (10) years experience in lieu of degree;
  • Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II certification (i.e., Security+ CE) at start;
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility at start;
  • Prior experience on a scrum team is a must;
  • Experience managing information technology development projects is required;
  • Demonstrated experience and in-depth understanding of Project Management practices is required;
  • Proven ability to use MS Project to manage projects is required;
  • Demonstrated experience in agile development and production environment is required;
  • PMP, Scrum Master, and/or Agile certification is desired;
  • ITIL v4 Foundations certification is desired.
